From Boone :
Leave Boone on 421 and head north or west towards Mountain City.
You will go thru Vilas, a little township with a couple of gas stations.
When you see all the heavy construction equipment piled up on the road on your right- you will be making the next left hand turn and there will be a left turn lane. Turn left at the skate rink onto 321 towards Elizabethton. This is just a few miles, maybe 3 or 4, outside of Boone.
Travel about 8 miles.
The last landmark will be the River View Grocery & Gas Station on the right.
Go about ½ mile and when the road starts to makes curves, there is a sign on the right that says Avery / Watauga county line. There is also a motorhome and a travel trailer on your right and pottery cabin called The Pot Peddlar.
Make a Hair Pin Turn to your left, which is Buck Eye Rd, and the road sign is probably gone. You will see a whole bunch of Beech mountain church signs
at this turn.
Follow this road up and when you come to the fork, go left.
The road winds around and then follows along Beech Creek.
You will see a Firehouse and a farmhouse with a green roof on your right.
Turn left onto Kellersville Rd after the farmhouse.
Go about 100 feet, and turn right onto Perry Presnell Rd.
Follow this road UP.
Do not take any of roads that peel off and go downhill to your right .
Just stay to your left and go UP.
This road dead ends in about 2 miles into Presnell School Rd.
Turn Right at this T inetersection on Presnell School Rd.
DON’T GO UP THE DRIVEWAY THAT SAYS PRIVATE ROAD – NO TRESPASS.
Follow along the creek, then over the bridge, and go uphill ½ Mile.
When you get to the top, you will come to a large clearing.
The driveway you want is the only paved road straight in front of you with the big gate and columns.
