Antique Gold Flower Pin Pot Metal Rhinestone Brooch 1940s Jewelry
Of all the old brooches I love to collect, some of my favorites are big eye popping extravagant designs that were popular right after World War II. These commanding brooches were known has post war pins and they were a huge fashion statement in their time. These big pot metal brooches are hard to come by these days, especially in good collectable condition.
This unique flower seed pod design is thick and heavy pot metal with a satin yellow gold gilt finish. The center stem is paved with clear rhinestone baguettes and the rest of the rhinestones are clear chatons, with the majority being about 2.6mm in size. If you want to get a good indication of the size of this piece, look at the photo of the brooch in my hand. It measures 3" tall x 3" wide and it weighs 39 grams.
You will be pleased to know that this brooch is in excellent condition for age. All of the rhinestone are present, original and sparking. There is no damage to the metal like scratches or dents. There is only some very light specks of gold wear here and there, and some light gold wear on the back. The brooch has the original fine working safety clasp and is not signed.
This is a very unique post war brooch. An exceptional, extravagant design !
