Antique Victorian Porcelain Pendant 24kt Gold HP Flowers
Antique porcelain brooches are rather common to find but antique porcelain pendants, of great size, are a rather uncommon find.
This exceptional hand painted porcelain pendant was most likely made in England, Bavaria, or Germany during the late Victorian period. There is a mold stamp on the back , the number 50, which could indicate the country of origin and the maker but I have never seen it before. The 24kt gold lace like ribbon style trim around the perimeter is also a very uncommon decoration as most antique porcelain pendants and brooches had mostly solid gold trims.
This large slightly domed oval porcelain cab is hand painted with cabbage roses in red and pink, blue and yellow flowers, and two shades of green in the stems and leaves.
Large in size, the pendant with bail is 2 1/2" tall x 1 5/8" wide or 64 mm x 42 mm. The pendant has the original large gold gilt bail and a newer gold pated chain 20 " or 51 cm long.
The entire pendant is in superb pristine clean condition with no imperfections or flaws. There are no scratches, scuffs, chips, cracks, or repairs. The hand painted decor is in excellent unfaded and unworn condition as well. The face of the pendant retains the original high gloss shine and the back is unglazed.
Comes shipped in a new silk lined luxury presentation necklace box.
