Art Deco Necklace Jade Peking Glass Oriental Antique Jewelry
Made in the 1920-1930 era, this exquisite very long Oriental Peking glass antique necklace is a rare treat. The necklace is a really long Art Deco flapper style necklace. It is an incredible 65" or 165 cm long!
The glowing translucent light mint green glass beads are perfectly simulated to look like Jade. Most would say the beads are Jade however microscopic air bubbles indicate these translucent beads are Peking glass. Spaced along the long glamorous strand are 9 oriental beads of Yellow Jade, Lavender Jade, Red and Orange Glass wafers, Amethyst, and pink and green glass.
All of the focal beads are large and all are different shapes. One bead is very unique; it is blue-green celluloid with carved roses all around. All of the focal beads are flanked with gold filigree bell caps. There are also some bronze mirrored pearl beads and gold metal ribbed spacer beads as well. The necklace is finished with the original brass flower insert clasp.
I never trust long strands like this on their old cord. The necklace has been professionally restrung on Acculon, or Teflon coasted stainless steel wire to assure strength and durability. The entire necklace is microscopically clean and bright with no signs of wear. All of the beads are perfect with no scratches, scuffs, chips, or cracks. The round Peking glass beads are about 7.5 mm in size and the focal beads range in size from 15 mm to 24 mm. the clasp is in perfect working order.
