Chunky Clear Lucite Necklace w Pearls MOD 1970s Vintage Jewelry
Every night when I turn on the news, I notice the necklaces anchor ladies are wearing. Many are wearing big chunky Lucite styles that have come back in style.
This necklace is an authentic late 1970's design. I've had it stored away all this time and it is like new and has never been worn. It is a bold daring piece, and a little bit weighty, but not terribly overbearing to one's neck.
The big link necklace chain is made of silver rhodium metal and the large beveled links accommodate clusters of lustrous white acrylic pearls. The focal area of the necklace are the 7 big multi faceted Lucite beads, each about the size of a walnut. If you move around suddenly, the Lucite beads make a deep clatter like rocks hitting each other. The bottom of every pearl and every Lucite bead are finished with clear glass seed beads with silver foil lining inside.
The necklace has the original extension chain and can be hooked up to 19 1/2" or 50 cm long. The pearls range in size from 12 mm to 16 mm. The Lucite chunks measure about 1 1/2" long x 1 1/4" wide or 38 mm x 32 mm. Like I said before, this necklace has never been worn and the entire necklace is in microscopically clean pristine new condition with no imperfections or flaws. The necklace is not signed.
