Coro Necklace Mid Century Modern 3 Strand Gold Balls 1950s Jewelry
At first sight, you might think this necklace was made in the 1970s or 1980s…but it is a much older vintage design!
This necklace is signed Coro in script without copyright, or pre 1955. Point in case, what you think as New Modern is really a repeat of fashion trends that were popular in the Mid Century Modern period!
This necklace looks like really heavy gold metal ball beads...but they are not. The necklace is very light weight to wear because these beads are yellow gold mirror metallic hollow acrylic beads. The gold metallic is a baked on finish resulting in a gold mirror finish that is tough and will not change or wear over time.
The necklace has 3 strands of large beads. With the matching extension chain, the necklace can be hooked up to 18" or 46 cm long. The gold beads range in size from 1/4" to 3/4" or 10 mm to 19 mm.
The entire necklace is in pristine clean like new condition with no signs of wear. All of the beads are mirror perfect with no scratches, scuffs, or dings. I see one smaller bead, 4th from the top, that has a crimp mark on it that is simply a mold imperfection. The hook is signed Coro in script without copyright.
If you would like to make the necklace a little bit longer, you can add a custom made gold metal extension chain below. A 4" extender will allow you to hook the necklace anywhere between 18" and 22" long.
