Coro Jewelry 1950s Vintage Necklace Cranberry Red Moonstone Lucite
This signed Coro necklace is one of their most impressive 1950's designs that is very uncommon to find today.
Coro styles like this were only made in one or two years and production of necklaces like this was not made in great numbers. I guess you could say it was a somewhat modern experimental design for Coro. If you are familiar with vintage Coro necklaces, then you will know that this design is not the norm.
The wave shaped cranberry Lucite links have a superb glowing quality, also called moonstone Lucite. The necklace is made of silver rhodium metal and each cranberry Lucite link is flanked with a row of clear rhinestones on silver rhodium bands.
There are (8) 1 1/4" or 3.1 cm long links and the decorative portion of the necklace is 10 3/4" or 27 cm long. With the original silver rhodium extension chains, the necklace can be hooked up to 16" or 40 cm long. If the necklace is not long enough for you, you can add an extension chain in the check boxes below this description.
I sincerely doubt this necklace has ever been worn because the entire necklace (front, back, and sides) is in pristine mint condition. The necklace is microscopically clean and all of the cranberry glass cabs are perfectly glossy and scratch free. All of the rhinestones are original, present, clear and sparkling. There is no silver rhodium wear anywhere.
The necklace is signed Coro in cursive script with © on the hook and the necklace also has the original silver rhodium Coro bee hive metal hang tag.
