Earthy Agate Style RARE Retro Necklace w Earrings AVON Jewelry
If you think Avon jewelry was low grade costume jewelry that does not have significant collector's value, think again!
I do not consider all Avon jewelry investment jewelry but there were many designs, particularly necklaces and earrings, that are great quality works or art and have serious value to collectors. Knowing what designs to look for comes with many years of experience in the vintage jewelry biz.
Even in in Sturdivants Avon jewelry book, this vintage Agate style necklace with earrings are noted as an EXTREMELY RARE set to find. The set was valued 4 years ago in 2008 at $ 70. Current trends of 10% increase in value per year indicate this set is valued at about $ 100.
Made only in 1992, this retro life saver motif features large earthy agate marbleized acrylic hoops with gold metal chains. The necklace and earrings have doubled strands of very nice gold plated Beveled Curb style chains. The necklace has 6 acrylic agate hoops and the long dangling pierced earrings have 2 rings per earring.
The necklace is 34" or 86 cm long and the earrings are 3 1/2" or 9 cm long. The rings are about the size of a silver dollar, or 1 1/2" or 38 mm wide. Both necklace and earrings are in pristine clean perfect like new unworn condition with no imperfections or flaws. All pieces are signed Avon.
