Pastelli Jewelry Vintage Strawberry Pin w Earrings 1950s Parure
Pastelli is the trademark of Royal Pittsburgh Jewelry Co. that was in business during the 1950s and closed in the 1980s. Their unique early designs, like this brooch and earring parure, are the hardest to find and are highly collectible.
The construction is superb and the quality craftsmanship is intricate and beautiful. The brooch and earrings are a bouquets of tiny enameled flowers with rhinestone chatons at the center of each flower.
The set is made of cast metal, first glazed white, then glazed with color. The pin is a large strawberry shape and the flowers and rhinestones are light lavender. The leaf tops are bright green enamel. The earrings are a round design and the enamels are light pink with lavender rhinestones.
This is a true set and not a married set. The enamels were intentionally made to be slightly different shades and the variance is not really detectable in my photos unless you look very closely. The earrings and the brooch are finished in yellow gold metal on the backs.
The brooch measures 2 1/4" tall x 1 1/2" wide or 5.8 cm x 3.8 cm. The earrings are 3/4 " wide or 1.8 cm. This set has never been worn. All of the enamels are glossy and perfect with no chips, crazing, or cracks. All of the rhinestones are original, present, and sparkling. Just the brooch is signed Pastelli, which is common with Pastelli pin and earring sets.
