Trifari Jewelry Vintage Crystal Pin 1950s Superb Clear Crystal Leaf Brooch
This remarkable clear crystal leaf brooch is exceptionally sparkling and brilliant!
The crystals are premium hand cut Austrian quality from the 1950s. This brooch is not signed, but it was made by Trifari in 1953 or about this time. I believe this design was a prototype, hence not many brooches like this one were ever made. It is very similar in design to Trifari patent # 169207. This design is more elegant than patent # 169207 as across the middle are three ribbon like rows of clear crystal baguettes. It was most certainly designed as anniversary, bridal, or special occasion jewelry.
The leaf is curled and arched and is composed of large oval faceted crystals. Open areas of the design are filled with small bezel set clear chatons and even the curl at the top of the leaf, that goes under the baguette rows, is paved with small chatons.
The brooch is a nice medium-large size at 2 1/8" tall x 1 3/4" wide. It is made of silver rhodium plated pot metal and the oval crystals have gold foil open backs. The entire brooch is in superb condition. All of the crystals and rhinestones are original, present, and super sparkling. All of the crystals have sharp facets with no scratches or wear.
There is no wear to the silver rhodium anywhere, not even on the sides or on the back. The entire piece is pristine and clean and the back has the original fine working safety clasp.
