If you want ridge top property in this region with a spectacular view,
there is one important thing to know before you buy property.
If you buy in a development, your water will be chemically treated water pumped in from a local town source. Many speculators have spent millions on property in this region with hopes to develop, only to find out that there is no relaible source of water on the property and to bring in pipelines, it may not only be impossible, but extremely cost prohibitive. The cost to drill wells at high elevations is also very expensive and not reliable.
Some mountains are wet, and some are dry.
It is impossible to know if you will have a reliable source of water, unless there is a large natural spring on the property. Drilled wells at high elevations are not very reliable long term.
It is very rare to find property at high elevations with a reliable source of water.
It is also very rare to find a property high up with an established large natural spring. We have talked with many locals who have stated that the spring at Morada Ridge has been running for hundreds of years. When locals with poor springs or wells dried up, as far back as the early 1800's that we can establish, many used to come here to get water as the spring at Morada Ridge has never run dry.
Morada Ridge not only has a large natural spring with 1500 gallons of holding capacity, but there is also an additional deep well source, which we have not used in 10 years because the natural spring is so reliable, and the water quality is extremely pure. The natural spring is also completely maintenance free. There is an additional 4000 gallon underground concrete tank that is not currently being used, located at the top of the property near the mountain house.
Having lived in South Florida for 20 years, I can tell you that there is nothing more important than a reliable source of premium drinking water.
