This very unusual metal enamel flower pin was made in West Germany in the 1950-1960 era. The painted yellow, gold, and orange are shiny satin pearl enamels. The flower is three tiers of shaped metal with boldly curved petals.
The pin is signed West Germany on the back and has the original fine working safety clasp. The enamels are in excellent condition. There is some light enamel wear to the back only. This special pearl enamel paint was rare to see in the 1950s. It was expensive as it included real crushed pearls in the paint. It was only used on an experimental basis and brooches like this were very limited in production. This type of finish is considered rare to find on West German jewelry. The flower is 2" wide.
