1940s Vintage Black Glass Earrings Rare European Handmade
# 16788
$38.00
These black glass vintage earrings are a unique pair and were hand made in the 1940s.
The earrings have brass screwbacks and all of the beads are glass, not plastic. If you look at the backs you can see the unique old brass findings. All of the beads are hand wired to the back findings. The focal black glass beads are large rectangular domes. The construction and findings of these earrings isn't often seen today as the earrings are over 80 yrs old.
Medium in size, the earrings are 1" long x 3/4" wide or 25 mm x 20 mm. The pair is in pristine clean condition with no imperfections or flaws. The glass beads are in exceptional condition with no scratches, chips, or cracks. The brass has a fine darkened patina from age.
The earrings are signed Japan but the earrings were made in Japan. The brass findings were made there and shipped to the US and Europe to all the top jewelry designers. The construction of these earrings looks like really old Haskell or DeMario to me however those designers, their inspiration was derived from German designers.
Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a new luxury presentation earring box.
