1940s Vintage Earrings Opal Moon and Red Glass Claire de Lune Style
# 13876
$60.00
I call these earrings Claire de Lune but I don't believe they were made by Trifari, but they very closely resemble the Trifari Claire de Lune design. If you look at the heavy gold-plated metal, a deep rich gold tone, it tells me these earrings were more likely made by Reinad or Coro. They date from the 1945-1950 era.
The ruby red crescent moons are machine beveled around the perimeters and the pear-shaped cabs have an are opal moonstone glass much like the moonstone glass used by Trifari. The design is finished with clear rhinestone chatons at the four corners. All of the crystals and rhinestones are set in pretty gold beaded metal bezels that adds sparkle to these unique earrings.
The earrings are screwbacks and they measure 3/4" or 2 cm wide. Both earrings are in perfect like new condition and I doubt they have ever been worn. Perfectly pristine clean all around as well.
