Very uncommon to find, this 1940's glass floral brooch was made in Japan. It has the original paper sticker on the back. This brooch is a very rare find as Japanese art glass jewelry that was artist made or handmade was not abundantly produced.

The entire piece was handmade, including the glass flowers and leaves. The flowers and leaves are all bright, rich primary colors with deep, molded ribs and each was mold made with metal wires inside the glass. The wires that form the flower stem are twisted together and wrapped in old silk cord that is a faded light green. The stamens in the flowers are made of paper around wire and have some age to them.

The brooch is rather large at 3" tall x w2 1/4" wide. All of the glass flowers and leaves are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The brooch has the original brass safety pin clasp on the back as well.
