This amazing pink glass 4 strand necklace and earrings Parure was made in the 1940-1950 era. You couldn't ask for a better combination of incredible pink caned glass French made beads in 4 strands!

This necklace is very feminine and with the clip earrings, there are 7 different shapes of pink glass beads. There are various barrel and round beads and all were hand made. I wont describe each and every bead because the pictures speak better than words!

Between each pink bead is a clear gold or Citrine glass spacer bead so the pink beads cannot wear against each other. The necklace is finished with silver metal butterfly findings and a pearl extension chain.

Both necklace and earrings are excellent clean and very well cared for vintage condition.

The necklace can be hooked anywhere between 14 1/2" long and 16 3/4" long. The earrings are 7/8" wide. Note that the earrings are a slightly different shade of pink than the necklace. I believe this is a result of the unusual type of bead as they are twisted cane glass.

The necklace is signed Japan on the hook and the clip earrings are not signed. But, don't let the Japan hook signature fool you.

In the 1940s and 1950s, Japan didn't make glass beads anything remotely close to French glass but they imported beads from around the world. All US jewelry designers did the same thing. Japan and US designers were tricky that way! 

The necklace has been professionally protected and stored away in my jewelry collection for over 30 years and has not been worn. There are only microscopic hints of wear from gentle handling.
