1950s Vintage Hattie Carnegie Chandelier Pearl Brooch w Crystal Orbs

# 13741

$120.00

This 1950s spectacular chandelier brooch is exceeding rare!

This massive chandelier brooch made of clear crystals, large pearls, and rhinestone orbs. The brooch is unsigned but I would venture to say it was made by Hattie Carnegie. The top of the brooch is a silver rhodium setting with Austrian crystals in a crown shape. The design features large faceted chatons and faceted pear cuts, all prong set.

The 6 pearls range from 3/8" up to 5/8" wide and they are hollow glass pearls. The large rhinestone orb is about the size of a large cherry tomato, or 7/8" wide! The 2 smaller rhinestone orbs are marble size or 1/2" wide. Overall, this stupendous creation is 3 3/4" long x 1 3/8" wide at the top.

The entire brooch is in fabulous well cared for condition. To the naked eye: There are no scratches or imperfections on the pearls. The silver metal loop wires are clean and bright. The rhinestone orbs are perfect. All of the rhinestones are prong set, sparkling, and all are present with no chips or scratches. The silver rhodium is perfect as well both front and back and all of the prongs are perfect with no wear. The crown at the top has excellent quality old Austrian lead crystals with spectacular brilliance and diamond like faceting.

Under high magnification I see one of the smallest chatons on the far left of the crown that has a slight grey tint. If you look at the crown under a large magnifying glass with a very bright light you will note: Some scant and light cloudiness at the backs of some of the crystals on the crown; two of the small rhinestones on the far left have a slight grey tint and one has a slight yellow tint. There are a few very tiny and very light scratches on a few of the pearls- not visible to the naked eye. A few of the rhinestones on the orbs have very faint and light cloudiness in the background- not visible to the naked eye. All of this is to be expected as normal with age and gentle handling.

A rare pin like this ~ you cannot expect it to be 100% perfect but of course, I scrutinize every microscopic detail to be perfectly clear!
