Made in the 1950s, this ruby red glass and rhinestone necklace is a antique lavaliere style. The necklace was made to be a Valentines or Anniversary present, or a regal style of necklace for special occasions.

The lavaliere pendant is a finial style medallion made of gold plated metal. The glowing ruby red glass is old Bohemian glass in molded pear and marquise shapes. At the center area are inset ruby red rhinestones, prong set gold metal chain that matches the necklace chain. All of the glass cabs and the rhinestones on the pendant and chain are sturdy 4 arm prong set.

The pendant is 1 3/4" long x 1 1/8" wide, or 4.3 cm x 3 cm. The rhinestone chain is 14" long but I have added some gold metal extension chain to make it 19" or 48 cm long overall. The pendant hangs down and additional 1 3/4". The necklace can be hooked anywhere between 14" and 19".

The necklace is in excellent sparkling clean condition. There are no imperfections or missing stones and very little, if any, signs of wear. If you look at the front and back of the pendant with a loupe, there are scant microscopic hints of wear but nothing that can be seen with the naked eye or deters from the value. The necklace is not signed.
