Made in the 1950s, these Celtic nautical cufflinks are Viking sailing ships. They are a rather uncommon design to find as they were not made in the US.
The ships are made of silver. They are not solid silver but silver plated, most likely 850 or 900 silver. The backs have 1950s bullet style toggles in gold plated metal. The backs of the ships are gold plated metal as well. Notice the hatch pattern on the back. That is a French made setting. It was backing commonly used on brooches and earrings made in France as well.
The cufflinks are 3/4" but they are petite in style. The fronts look like they are worn but they are not. It is the way the silver was molded with rough texture in some areas and polished in others. The ships do have a light silver patina from age. The toggles and shafts on the back have some hints of light gold wear. The cufflinks are not signed.
Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a luxury presentation cufflink box as pictured.
