1950s Vintage Copper Brooch Great European Celtic Knot
# 13916
$55.00
WOW. That's what I say when I see a big copper brooch in great condition that's over 70 yrs old. I truly admire vintage copper jewelry that was made from European copper. The difference between European copper and US copper is very significant.
This unique vintage copper brooch is a Celtic knot design that was made in the late 1950s or early 1960s. The pin is not signed but this design was most likely made in Austria, Germany, or Norway. I have a great deal of experience in collecting copper jewelry over the past 40 yrs and whats important to note about this brooch: It is artisan made by a highly skilled coppersmith and it is a rare design to find. The copper came from European mines, not US copper mines, attesting to the high-grade quality of the thick and weighty copper.
The 1/2" wide circle is a wave of highly polished copper and the Celtic knot is thick copper wire. The interior of the wave band is lightly burnished. The pin measures 2" wide or 5 cm. The brooch is in superb like new condition. The copper is sparkling clean and bright and there are no scratches, scuffs, or dings, not even on a microscopic level.
Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a new presentation jewelry box.
