Made in the 1960s, this is a very rare to find vintage necklace. It was considered costume jewelry but this style or method is no longer made today. All of the beads on this necklace are spun silk; spun from thread like fibers in a vertical layered fashion on the beads.
This style was not heavily mass produced and the production of this style didnt last long. As the beads are silk, if they were not well cared for, the silk would wear and tear. It is very uncommon to find one of these of silk necklaces in perfect condition.
The blue silk is a medium shade of blue or cornflower blue. The silk beads are spaced with gold metal ball beads and the 3 largest silk beads have gold metal bell caps. The necklace is finished with a gold metal barrel clasp.
When clasped, the necklace is 25" or 64 cm long. The beads are graduated sizes and range from 8 mm to 20 mm. The entire necklace is in pristine clean like new condition with no imperfections or flaws. There is no fading, torn, or worn silk and no missing threads. The gold ball beads are all like new as well. The necklace is not signed. This necklace has never been worn and has been safely stored away for decades.
Comes gift wrapped and shipped in new luxury presentation necklace box.
