These Black and Gold Vintage Earrings are very unique and were made in the 1950-1960 era.

The earrings are light weight metal medallions with an open work and engraved floral designs. The background is black enamel and the floral designs are machine beveled in 14 kt gold.

The earrings are for pierced ears and have brand new gold metal ear wires with lever back closures.

You wont see many earrings made like these. They are made in a way that jewelry is no longer made today. They were most likely made in Spain, Italy, or Portugal. They exhibit characteristics of old-world craftsmanship that was used in European jewelry up until the end of the first half of the 20th century; similar to techniques used in making Damascene jewelry.

Light weight to wear, the earrings are 2 1/4" or 56 mm long. The pair is in superb condition for age. </b><b>The medallions are pristine clean with no scratches, bends, or dings. There is some microscopic black enamel wear from gentle handling; mainly on the backs. The earrings are not signed.
