1960s Tigers Eye Gold Nugget Vintage Cufflinks
# 15076
$110.00
Made in the 1960's, these vintage mens cufflinks have gold nugget frames with large oval Tigers Eye gemstone cabs. In my 40 years of collecting antique and vintage jewelry, perfect like new condition is the aspect I seek the most. There's something nostalgic about nice, quality Tigers Eye jewelry that takes me back to my hippie days when it was so popular; and men actually wore jewelry.
The cufflinks are not signed but the styling looks like that of Hickok. Both cufflinks are in pristine microscopically clean like new condition and have obviously never been worn. Down inside one of the Tigers Eye cabs are three tiny specks. They are slight imperfections down inside the Tigers Eye and can hardly be seen with the naked eye. You can see it in my close up photos. It is not on the surface; they are specks of grit or mica inside the Tigers Eye itself which is common in this type of gemstone.
The face of the cufflinks are 7/8" or 23 mm wide.Made in the 1940s, these vintage cufflinks are a very uncommon old Celtic design. This Celtic dog motif has a significant meaning in Irish Lore, mainly that of being dogs of war, or the qualities of loyalty, and healers of the body and soul.
The cufflinks are shield shapes with a Celtic castle, a dog, and flowing water motif. The cufflinks are made of pewter and they are signed "pewter" on the backs. This is a design that was most likely made in Ireland or England, not the US.
Medium large in size, the shields are 1" or 27 mm tall. The pair is in pristine like new microscopically clean condition with no imperfections or flaws. There is no metal wear and no scratches, scuffs, or dings.
Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a new luxury presentation cufflink box as pictured.
