These wild vintage clip earrings are abstract splatter art in hand painted enamels. You might think they aren't that wild today, but in the 1960s they were!

The base is black, the splatters are white, and the lines are bright green and orange. The earrings are light weight plastic beads and the dangling bead is a large, faceted olive with a gold metal filigree flower bell cap.

In many decades of collecting vintage earrings, I've only ever seen 1 other pair of earrings similar, so the design must have been short lived and not mass produced. These are very early jewelry imports from Hong Kong, long before jewelry was imported from China. Almost all jewelry made in Hong Kong was wild and very unique.

The clips are signed Hong Kong and measure 1 3/4" long x 5/8" wide. The earrings are in pristine like new condition with no wear and the clips have tight snap. Truth is, these earrings have been stored away in my jewelry collection for over 30 years and have not been worn. There are only microscopic hints of wear from gentle handling.
