This admirable necklace is an ethnic style that was popular in the 1980s. This is a wide, thick, torsade made of tiny black glass beads. There are 50 individual strands of black glass beads!

The tops of the strands are encircled by two 3" long, tubular carved bone beads. The carved designs are diamonds, circles, and stars. The strands terminate with a very unique carved bone clasp.

The necklace is not signed, but it was most likely made in India. I have owned this necklace since new in the 1980s and it has never been worn. The entire necklace is in pristine clean like new perfect condition. All of the black glass beads and the carved bone beads are glossy and perfect.

Overall, the necklace is 33 1/2" long or 84 cm. The bottom of the torsade hangs at about mid-chest level. The bone beads are 3" long x 7/8" wide, or 7.5 cm x 2.3 cm. The necklace is a little bit weighty but not what I would call heavy to wear.
