Of all the antique and vintage cameo pins ever made, of my very favorites are ones molded from really old, unusual glass.

This cameo is molded from either French or English glass that is both rose pink and lavender. Under different lighting the glass can take on slightly different hues; more pink under natural daylight and more lavender under household lighting. This cameo is Victorian and dating it is a little bit difficult but it was made in the later half of the 19th century. The openwork gold frame is actually two layered frames. The frames have a unique octagonal/diamond shape with scrolls in relief and finished in gold gilt.

Medium petite in size, the brooch is 1 1/4" tall x 1 1/8" wide or 33 mm x 28 mm. The back of the brooch has the original old C clasp. The entire brooch is in pristine clean condition with no imperfections or flaws. The glass cameo is in perfect glossy condition with no chips, cracks, or scratches. There is no loss of gold on the front of the frame; some moderate gold wear and brass wear on the back of the brooch only. The brooch is not signed but was most likely made in France or England.
