I have a small collection of antique German bisque porcelain figurine vases I've decided, rather unwillingly, to part with. I bought all of them from a lady who owned and antique shop, who was going out of business on the Eastern Shore if MD back in the early 1980s. All of these pieces are antique bisque porcelain that were made in the 1880's.
This boy with sheaths of wheat vase is signed Germany, mold number 9998, and the hallmark for Unger, Schneider and Cie is also present. The vase is made of chalk white bisque porcelain. The figurine is accented with brown, green, and gold painted accents.
Medium large is size, the vase is 6" tall x 3 3/4" wide or 15 cm x 9.5 cm. The entire vase is in perfect condition with no scratches, scuffs, chips, or cracks. There are not even any flea bites anywhere on this piece. The worn look of the paint is mostly the way in which was painted with perhaps some minor loss from handling over the decades.
