This very unique brooch is a European design that was made in the 1930-1940 era. It is a reproduction design from the Victorian era, or the mid 1800s. As it was made from a Victorian mold, the pin looks exactly like the Victorian version with intricate embossed floral details. The dainty embossed flowers are centered on the large areas but they are inverted on the curled areas in two sections of border trim.
The brooch is made of weighty brass with a thick gold plating. It weighs 21 grams and measures 3" long x 1 1/4" wide, or 7.7 cm x 4 cm. It can be worn horizontally or vertically and is best suited for jackets, sweaters, heavy scarves. It looks best worn high up near the shoulder.
You'll be pleased to know that this brooch is in sensational condition. The entire brooch is very clean and the gold has a high polish with no wear or imperfections. The embossed floral design has a slightly darker gold look than the polished trim because of the intricate detail. The back has the original fine working safety clasp and there no signs of wear or abuse on the back. Only if you look at this pin under a loupe might you be able to detect some very light signs of handling over the years.
