This tiered 1950s vintage crystal star pin is a very unusual shade of blue. It is a steel blue or Bermuda blue and the star is composed of big emerald cut crystals and chatons. The screw back earrings have matching cuts but the design is round. This set is made of thick and heavy silver rhodium metal. The set is not signed but if you look at the backs, at the fused or soldered way in which the set was made, it is likely that this set was made by Schreiner or possibly Delizza & Elster.
The brooch is in immaculate condition and all of the crystals are prong set. The double layered star is 1 3/4" wide. The emerald cut crystals are 6mm x 8mm. The brooch has the original fine working safety clasp and all of the crystals are perfect with no scratches, chips, or cloudiness. There is no wear to the silver rhodium anywhere on the pin.
The earrings are 1" wide and all of the crystals and rhinestones are original, present, and sparkling with no chips or cracks. The backs of the earrings are clean but there is some very light metal wear. The emerald cut crystals on the earrings are open back settings with gold foiled backs.
Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a new presentation jewelry box.
