Made in the 1960s, this is a very uncommon vintage necklace that was considered costume jewelry but this style or method is no longer made today. All of the beads on this necklace are spun silk; spun from thread like fibers in a vertical layered fashion on the beads.
The blue silk is a medium shade of blue; cornflower or deep sky blue. The silk beads are spaced with gold metal ball beads and the 3 largest beads have gold metal bell caps. The necklace is finished with a gold metal barrel clasp. This necklace has never been worn and has been safely stored away.
When clasped, the necklace is 25" or 64 cm long. The beads are graduated sizes and range from 8 mm to 20 mm. The entire necklace is in pristine clean like new condition with no imperfections or flaws. There is no fading, torn, or worn silk and no missing threads. The gold ball beads are all like new as well. The necklace is not signed.
Comes gift wrapped and shipped in new luxury presentation necklace box.
