This large hand painted vintage crystal vase was made by an artist here in my neck of the woods of the Appalachian mountains; Blowing Rock, NC. The vase is artist signed BJ, 1998, for Betty Jo Kinzler. 17 years ago and before that, Betty Jo showed and sold her work around this area in many boutiques and art shows. Some of the finest artists I've ever seen call Blowing Rock their home. I've tried to get in touch with her but I don't know where she is now. The vase also has one of her business cards, but the address and phone are no longer valid.
This is such a flattering vase for spring and summer fresh cut flowers; it has tremendous eye appeal. The vase has a large bulbous base and a tapered fluted wide mouth neck. The crystal has a high pitch ring and the neck has vertical bevels. There are wider bevels around the base as well. The vase is hand painted with purple and white flowers, green and yellow leaves, and black and white brushed accents. The neck is also adorned with a string of black glass beads and pearls.
For a really nice full bouquet, this large vase is about 8 1/2" tall x 6" wide at the base or 21 cm x 15 cm. The entire vase is in pristine clean like new condition with no imperfections or flaws. There are no scratches, scuffs, chips, or cracks.
