Funky Psychedelic Necklace 1960s Red Porcelain Hippie Beads
Price:
$55.00
Photos of this necklace really do not do it justice! This handmade vintage 1960s necklace is loud made of red and white porcelain handmade beads. The large red beads are handmade balls, all bigger than cherry tomatoes or about the size of walnuts. The red bead are not uniform or perfectly round as they were hand rolled. The glaze is a bright cherry red with a thick clear glaze. They are about 3/4" to 1" wide.
The long white tube beads are slightly curved and on both sides of each bead there are inlaid pulled canes in primary colors. Several different colors of clay were rolled in a ball, then sliced into canes with a knife. The effect is very psychedelic hippie-ish design ~ something that is just not made anymore. The white tube beads with the colored inlay are about 2" long x 3/8" wide.
The bulbous gold metal beads probably came from Japan and the necklace has a huge old screw in type clasp. The necklace measures 21 1/2" long and because all of the beads are thick porcelain, the necklace is rather weighty. All of the beads are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or other imperfections. The necklace is perfectly clean and shows no signs of wear. One really great thing about this piece : just about any wild earrings will go with it- or plain red or white.
Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a new presentation jewelry box.
