Made in the 1950-1960 era, this very admirable cufflink and tie clasp set is made of large polished Hematite cabs.
While Hematite jewelry was very popular in the 1950s and 1960s, Hematite cufflinks and tie clasps are rather uncommon to find.
The gemstones are real Hematite as opposed to man-made simulated Hematite, called Hemalike, that is used in new jewelry.
There was a time about 40 years ago that hematite became very expensive and hence, man made Hemalike evolved.
The large oval and domed hematite cabs are large, or 1 1/16" long x 3/4" wide or 27 mm x 20 mm.
The cabs are set in quality polished gold plated ribbon style frames.
Look at the backs and you can see the unique flower like findings.
The cufflinks are not signed, with the exception of the words that read Pat. Pend.
It is obvious this set has never been worn as the cabs are in 100% pristine perfect condition with no imperfections or flaws.
There are no scratches or dings and the cabs are perfectly polished.
There is no gold wear or loss of gold anywhere.
Comes shipped in a new luxury cufflink presentation box as pictured.
