I feel old. Really old. When people refer to the hippie days, I think they're talking 20 yrs ago. Oh, but my, it was 40-50 yrs ago.
Needless to say, I've had these earrings safely tucked away for a long time. Always admired them but wanted to preserve the like new condition and I do not recall ever wearing them. But then again....I'm old. I'm sure I did wear them a few times.
1970s and 1980s vintage Signed KJL gold hoop earrings designed like this pair are impossible to find and rarely if ever found in exceptional condition. There are still many old lady style hoops you can find, a wide half circle that goes tight up under the ear, but the modern swinging hippie styles worn by runway and fashion models back then are rare to find in todays KJL collectors world.
These elliptical, free swinging, gold wave style hoop earrings are designer signed Kenneth J Lane. The rich gold metal plate is a bright yellow satin gold. The hoops have a smooth nugget or wave texture.
The earrings are clips and they are medium in size at 1 5/8" long x 7/8" wide or 3.5 cm x 2.3 cm. Both earrings are in pristine clean mint like new condition with no imperfections or signs of wear. Both earrings are signed K.J.L. Cant say exactly when they were made but it was assuredly the 1970-1980 era.
