A very exquisite 1950s vintage gold flower brooch with a big pom-pom-style Sapphire blue rhinestone center!
This brooch is not signed…but ahhhh..who made it? Lets examine the clues.
The exceptional quality of the luxurious satin gold finish on the leaves, and the leaves that look beveled or carved..that may be a clue. The big pom-pom style center completely covered with Sapphire blue rhinestones....that may be a clue.
It is the quality and style of Les Bernard.
If you have Inside the Jewelry box by Ann Pitman, go to pages 48-49. You will see a similar pom-pom style flower brooch that is valued at $ 200 - $ 225, and that's an out of date value. Les Bernard also made earrings in this style.
Also note the unusual flower design setting at center on the back. It is my best educated guess that this brooch was made by Les Bernard but of course, Im not 100% positive. It may have also been made by another top US jewelry designer like Boucher, Benedikt, or Ciner. You will love the rich luxurious texture of the gold flower petals on this brooch.
Large in size, the brooch is 2 1/2" or 64 mm wide. The rhinestone pom-pom is 3/4" or 21 mm wide. You can get a better indication of the size by viewing the photo of the brooch in my hand.
The entire brooch is in pristine clean like new condition with no imperfections or flaws. *There is a flower design at the center setting on the back and one of the arms has a tiny break. There is no gold wear or loss of gold and no scratches, scuffs, or dings. All of the rhinestones are original, present, and sparkling. The back has the original fine working safety clasp.
Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a new luxury presentation brooch box.
