This English transferware bird plate bears the Minton Company mark that dates from 1842 to 1883. This old songbird pattern is a relatively hard Minton design to find.
The plate is a 7 1/2" salad plate with 24kt gold trim around the perimeter. The plate is in superb condition for age with the high gloss shine still intact and no wear to the transferware pattern. The plate has not been used in 50 years that I have owned it.
There are no chips, cracks, or repairs. The gold trim has only very light wear from handling, hardly worth noting. If you hold the plate to a right angle, a few small scratches in the top clear coat can be seen at the center area.
