I am a big fan of carved wood jewelry from around the world. I learned to love it in the 1970s and I've collected unique pieces ever since.
This striking tropical hard wood necklace is a very unique design that was made in Costa Rica in the 1980s. This handmade necklace is a very rare design. I doubt you will ever see another one like it! If you are not familiar with Costa Rican tropical hard wood jewelry, get to know it! It is the most beautiful and unique wood jewelry made anywhere in the world, and it is not easy to get.
This necklace is a flower design as the wood is carved into waves that look like flower petals. It is incomprehensible how these unique flowers were made, not to mention the top-quality tropical hard wood used.
There are 3 types of exotic tropical hard woods in reddish-browns all with bold wood grain. There are a total of 12 wooden petals and each is 1 3/4"wide x 3/8" thick. The top is finished with large metal beads in copper and antiqued pewter finishes. These large beads are about 1" wide.
The necklace is strung on wide cinnamon cloth cord that was handmade as well. It can be tied anywhere between 15 " to 30" long. The entire necklace is in pristine like new condition and has never been worn. The wood is clean and vibrant with no damage or imperfections.
This necklace is from my private collection of vintage carved wood jewelry.
Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a new presentation jewelry box.
