LOVE these earrings! They are a great everyday style. Easy to dress down, or dress up in the evening. The earrings are signed W inside a square with ©. This is an old Whiting & Davis Co. signature, and they did reuse old signatures in later years. Google it. Google has now quoted me on this. I believe the signature was used in the 1940-1960 era however, these earrings were made in the 1980s when I purchased them new. They never made a lot of jewelry year after year. Their jewelry lines came and went sporadically.... because they were BUSY making audacious evening bags LOL! 

The earrings are exceptional quality and very unique in design. These petite hoop clip earrings are made of gold metal with navy blue glossy enamel on the exteriors. At the front of the hoop is a six-point star in silver metal paved with tiny clear crystals. At center is a very nice quality 7 mm cultured pearl. 

On that note, hear me when I tell you a secret that Whiting and Davis. They have long been undervalued by collectors. They made very impressive, quality jewelry often incorporating Mother of Pearl and cultured pearls and they are still in business as far as I know. They of course are famous for their evening bags, but they have a very long fascinating history in designer fashions. Find their most impressive jewelry, collect it, and keep it safe. 

The earrings are new and never worn because I safely stashed them away as a keepsake. Medium petite in size, the hoops are 1" long x 1/2" wide or 26 mm x 13 mm. The pair is in pristine clean like new condition with no imperfections or flaws.
