Aquamarine Sterling Silver Heart Pin 1960s Jewelry
In the 1960s-1970s era when this bar pin was made, there were two jewelry fashion trends that were very popular.
There was an Art Nouveau revival and this pin is styled like an antique Art Nouveau bar pin. Aquamarines we very popular as well, and they didn’t have to be your birthstone, as women of all walks of life loved them.
This sterling silver bar pin features paired hearts on the ends and a large marquise cut brilliant Aquamarine gemstone at center. The diamond shaped frame around the Aquamarine is paved with sparkling Austrian crystals that are diamondesque, or diamond like in appearance. The hearts have clear Austrian crystals as well. The pin is pierced or beaded, which creates a glistening texture, and white japanned.
Feminine and petite, the pin is 1 5/8" or 40 mm long. The Aquamarine crystal is 11 mm long. The pin is signed 925.
The entire pin is in pristine clean like new condition with no imperfections or flaws. The Aquamarine is flawless with no chips, scratches, or facet wear. The back has the original hinge, bar, and safety clasp: all sterling silver.
