Black n Turquoise Earrings 1960s Retro Vintage Jewelry
If you could magnify microscopic organisms like amoebas and make them into earrings, I think this is what it would look like! These very odd vintage earrings are from the 1950s Eames Era - when abstract Art first started to gain popularity in jewelry.
The earrings are for pierced ears and the amoeba like shapes are flat silver metal with shiny black enamel. The baroque ball dangles are four sided concave shapes. They are glossy Turquoise Lucite; not painted, as the color goes all the way through the beads.
The turquoise beads are slightly large than a cherry tomato, or about 1" long. They look big, but they are light weight to wear. The black amoeba shapes are 1 1/4" wide. The earrings are 2 3/8" long overall.
The earrings are in excellent condition for age with no enamel loss, chips or scratches. Both earrings are exceptionally clean as well, including the brass wires between the beads.
