WENDY GELL Earrings Black Rivoli Crystals Pierced Dangles
I've been collecting and researching antique and vintage jewelry for the past 30+ years and in my professional opinion, Wendy Gell jewelry is severely under appreciated and under valued.
There will come a day in the not so distant future when collectors are going to realize this and snap up all the bargains. None of her signed earrings should be valued at under $ 65.
In the 1970s and 1980s, Wendy's designs were on the cover of Vogue and in thousands of editorials in magazines all over the world. She designed special pieces for Bill Blass, Oscar de laRenta, and Louis Dell'Olio. There are a lot of sellers online who don't know the value or appreciate her jewelry which is why prices are low.
Wendy made rivoli crystal earrings in long dangle designs in many different colors. What I admire most about her earrings is the quality construction. Look at the back of the earrings and you can see the thick round brass plates adhered with clear epoxy resin; made to last a century or more.
These black rivoli crystal pierced earrings are 3 1/8" or 80 mm long. The crystals are 16 mm and a larger 18 mm crystal at the top.
The earrings are in pristine clean condition with no imperfections or flaws. There are no chips, cracks, or facet wear on the crystals but there is some very light microscopic edge wear in spots, hardly worth noting and not visible to the naked eye. The brass links have an aged patina. Both earrings are signed Wendy Gell.
