Vintage Flower Pin Big Pink Fish Scales 1960s Puerto Rican Jewelry
This large and extremely unique flower pin was made in Puerto Rico in the 1960s. The flower has the original card, and you can read the whole description in my photos. The front of the card reads. " Puerto Rican Fishscales by The Islander ".
This hand made flower is made of tarpon fish scales that have been dyed deep coral pink. The fish scales are thick and durable, because they are tarpon scales but they feel like velvet to the touch. The center is adorned with a few small pearls and the fish scales are tightly wired together with thin copper wire.
The flower is in perfect condition, including the natural ruffled edges. If you see what looks like scratches in my photos, it is just the white ribbing in the scales that is a natural texture. The pin has 2 layers of petals and measures 3" wide. This pin has never been taken off of the original card!
Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a new presentation jewelry box.
