Military Pin 1940s Vintage WWII British Tank
From the 1940s, this gold and dark brown painted large celluloid pin is a Bristish tank. Yes, a Tank !
Im certain the first question you would ask about his pin is : Who in the world would wear something like this?
This was a military reward or merit pin for boys. I am not an expert in WWII military pins, but as this pin is made of celluloid, it is only logical to assume that it was not made for British soldiers.
The back of the pin shows that is made of marbled celluloid, which is actually a type of celluloid that was made in both Czechoslovakia and Germany in the 1930s and 1940s.
The pin is large in size and measures 1 1/2" tall x 2 1/2" wide. It is in excellent condition with no flaws or imperfections and only a couple of tiny, light signs of wear on the front. The back has the original bar pin but there is no C Clasp. The C clasp was celluloid but is no longer present. The pin is not signed.
