Mother of Pearl Necklace Orchid Pendant Karla Jordan 1980s Jewelry
Karla Jordan made this style of necklace famous. In the 1980s, she produced a vast array of Mother of Pearl inlay large pendant style necklaces.
She produced many flower and animal designs, some with unique agate chip inlay. Some of her designs were plain and unimpressive but this necklace demonstrates how she made a work of art in jewelry.
The large flower shaped medallion is an orchid or lily in a pot. The Mother of Pearl inlay is a pastel mix of pinks and blues and the black and white sections are acrylic. All of the inlay also has polished brass framing or trim. The double strand necklace, in round and disk beads, are acrylic in ivory white. The orchid medallion hangs to the side, not at the center.
The necklace is 28" or 71 cm long. The medallion is 3 1/2" long x 2" wide or 90 mm x 50 mm. The ivory white disk beads are 10 mm wide.
The entire necklace is in pristine clean like new condition with no imperfections or flaws. The necklace is not signed as many Karla Jordan designs came with a signed card, or the signed hang tag was removed.
Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a new presentation necklace box.
