Silver Scorpion Brooch w CZs 1980s Jewelry
Insect pins of many types have always been top collectible figural pins. Even in ancient times, snake jewelry was very prominent. However, throughout the mass jewelry production era in the US from the 1920s thru the 1960s, very few scorpion pins were ever made.
It wasn't until the 1970s, for some odd reason, that scorpion pins started to become popular. Personally, I think it has something to do with the massive population migrations to the desert southwest in the 1970s and 1980s.
This silver rhodium scorpion has big clear Cubic Zirconia chatons down the spine and AB marquise crystals as part of the claws or pinchers. This scorpion is a bright dazzling creation as the CZ's have brilliant diamond like facets and diamond like clarity.
Medium in size, the scorpion is 1 5/8" tall x 1 1/4" wide or 40 mm x 32 mm.
The entire pin both front and back is in pristine sparkling clean like new condition with no imperfections or flaws. All of the CZ's and crystals and original and present. There is no silver rhodium wear or loss of silver. The back has the original fine working safety clasp and the pin is not signed.
Comes gift wrapped and shipped in new luxury presentation brooch box.
