RICHELIEU Signed Cultured Pearl Earrings 10mm Studs 1950s Jewelry
From the late1950s, these lustrous white pearl stud earrings are designer signed Richelieu !
Richelieu was a jewelry designer that specialized in cultured pearl jewelry. Their high quality pearl jewelry was eagerly purchased and worn by women young and old. ( If you got a gift in one of the famous Richelieu designer boxes , you knew it was something very special before you even opend the box ! )
But : I dont want to confuse you. Not all Richelieu pearl jewelry is the same. After the late 1950s, many of their bigger pearl earrings and necklace designs were not cultured pearls at all but rather painted Acrylic or plastic. The trick in knowing is if the pearls are glass or not. If they are, they are in fact fine quality cultured pearls.
The cultured glass pearls are 10 mm half domes and the earrings are made of silver rhodium metal. The earrings have lever style screw backs that are adjustable and comfortable to wear.
The pair is in pristine and clean like new condition with no signs of age or wear. The pearls are perfect with no scratches or scuffs and there is no wear to the silver rhodium. The magnified photo of the back of the earrings looks like there is wear to the metal, but there is none, its just my camera and refelctions.
Both earrings are signed Richelieu.
Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a new presentation earring box.
