Schiaperelli Rainbow Rivoli Crystal Brooch 1950s Jewelry
Made in the 1950s, this extravagant Rainbow Rivoli crystal brooch is a spectacular large presentation piece. This commanding vintage designer creation is one that cant be missed and will always be admired by everyone who sees it. This is a special heirloom brooch; something you can pass on and the design will never go out of style.
The round domed design presents 7 large rainbow rivolis, each about the size of a US dime, or 9 1/6" or 15 mm wide. The rivolis are set inside a circular frame of large 6.5 mm ruby red rhinestone chatons. The brooch is made of polished gold metal and all of the rhinestones are 4 prong set.
Look at the back of the brooch and you can see the very fine quality rivoli settings and the quality soldered construction. The brooch is not signed, but it was undoubtedly made by Schiaparelli.
This luminous creation is an impressive presentation piece at 2" wide or 50 mm. You can get a better indication of the size by viewing the photo of the brooch in my hand.
The very first criteria I have when it come to rivoli crystal brooches is that all of the rivolis must be perfect with no flea bites, scratches, or facet wear and the crystals must be perfectly clear with no discoloration or cloudiness. You will find that this brooch meets that criteria.
All of the rhinestones are perfect as well. There is no gold wear anywhere, not even on any of the prongs or the back and the entire brooch is microscopically clean and bright. The back has the original fine working safety clasp.
Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a new presentation jewelry box.
