Sea Shell Pin Hand Made Flowers 1950s Vintage Jewelry
I admire old sea shell jewelry and I collect unique pieces only. I admire this pin because the design is very reminiscent of old porcelain flowers brooches that were made in England. I cannot be certain where this one was made but it was most likely USA and dates from the 1940-1950 era.
The small flower clusters are made from tiny clam shells and each flower has very tiny yellow stamens. The clam shells are very tiny at about 1/8" wide each. Creating this design was very difficult as the flowers are so small.
The little clam shells were dyed in colors of light and dark orange, light and dark yellow, light and dark green, and deep purple. A great array of brilliant colors !
The flowers are piled high and are mounted on oval frame, made of wood and painted gold. The pin is medium to petite in size at about 1 1/2" long x 1 1/8" wide. All of the shells are in perfect condition and the pin has the original fine working safety clasp as well.
Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a new presentation jewelry box.
You can add a gold brooch slider to convert this pin to a pendant by checking the box below. Sliders come with a pair of silicon stoppers to hold slider in place.
