Silver 1950s Vintage Jewelry Box Engraved Panels
Made in Japan in the 1950s, this silver lidded box is un upright oval shape with drapery panels and engraved swag and leaf designs. This box was originally made as a candy dish or a vanity box for small miscellaneous items. The box is very heavy and is made of a silver alloy mix of lead, zinc, nickel, and rhodium. The bottom of the box and the inside of the lid are finished in a small repeating daisy pattern motif.
Medium in size, the box is 4 1/2" tall x 4 1/2" long x 3 3/4" wide or 114 mm x 114 mm x 95 mm. The box is clean and polished and in excellent condition with no scratches or dings. The metal shows some light signs of wear from gentle handling over the past 50+ years. The box is not signed.
