This exceptional Kutani smudge pot vase was made in 1934 and was purchased by a collector at the worlds fair. It was part of a 4 piece set of identical vases ( except color schemes) and only one of them was signed Worlds Fair 1934. At this time, the signed worlds fair vase is available here on my site.
This small vase is known as a smudge pot vase as it was intended to be used for sage or other natural burning incense and healing applications. This vase is a Geisha motif with heavy moriage in yellow and orange with 22kt gold accents.
The vase is 5” tall x 2 ¾” wide. It has been kept in a hutch cabinet and never used for over 80 yrs. The entire vase is in pristine clean like new condition with no imperfections or flaws. There are no scratches, chips, cracks, worn paint or repairs. The bottom is signed Made in Japan.
Here are the item numbers of the other vases you can find in the search box: 19007, 19008, 19009
